Join a park ranger from Booker T. Washington National Monument to learn about the importance of both domestic and wild animal tracks left behind on an 1850s Virginia plantation. You'll also make your own cast of an animal track which you can keep and take home.
Smith Mountain Lake State Park Jr. Ranger program is offered free to participants, ages 7-12 years, due to the generous support of the Friends of Smith Mountain Lake State Park. Eight hours of programming are required to qualify as a Jr. Ranger. Programs are held on 6/14, 6/21, 6/28, 7/5, 7/12, and 7/19.
Pre-registration required. Registration opens June 1, 2018. Request a registration form by e-mailing to jeanette.lawler@dcr.virginia.gov, or you may call 540-297-5998 for more information. Registrations need to be returned prior to the date your child plans to attend. You will be notified when the registration is confirmed.
