Spoil Mom with a delightful cup of tea. We'll harken back to the days of olde and enjoy an "American" version of an English Afternoon (or Low) Tea. In England there were two main meals daily, breakfast and dinner. Dinner was served very late in the evening, so it was a very long time between meals. Anna Maria Stanhope, the Duchess of Bedford (1788-1861), complained about a "sinking feeling" in the late afternoon. Afternoon tea was her invention to keep her going until dinner.
We'll have a variety of teas and treats for you to sample. Be sure to stay after the tea and join us for our Wildflower Walk around the gardens at the Discovery Center.
Event is free. Regular parking fees apply. For more information, please call our Main Office at (540) 297-6066 betwen 8am and 4:30 pm.
