Run For The Children 5K

The Agape Center at Smith Mountain Lake provides mentoring, food, clothing, household goods, and more to those in our community who need help through difficult times. Over 250 volunteers serve an average of 2500 individuals per month from Bedford and Franklin Counties. The Agape Center is a partner program of Feeding America Southwest Virginia. Each year, the Agape Center hosts a Christmas Store for our participating families, where families can select a gift for each of their children. The families love being able to choose just the right gift for their child! All proceeds from our 5K run, “Run For The Children” will go to purchasing a new gift, valued at $30.00, for each of the 1300 children served by the Agape Center. Please join us for a morning of fun, friendship and physical activity, and help make a child’s Christmas special this year. Santa and Mrs. Claus will be there to personally thank you for helping with this worthwhile project. The run will begin and end at The Agape Center, which is located at 1159 Promised Land Road, Moneta, VA. It is an enjoyable run/walk in the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains near Smith Mountain Lake. The course is of moderate difficulty, with some gradual ups and downs. This is a share the road event.
