Looking for an economical way to spend your spring break? Smith Mountain Lake State Park has several opportunities for the whole family to connect with nature this spring.
Hiking the more than twelve miles of groomed trails - trail guides can be picked up at the Visitor Center, Discovery Center, or Turtle Island Trail Parking.
Mountain biking along our trails, or enjoying a leisurely bike ride along one of our scenic roadways. Bike rentals are also available from our Visitor Center on a first come-first serve basis.
Grab your GPS (or rent one at the Visitor Center) and head into the park to discover the thrill of geocaching. See a list of park caches at our Visitor Center. Go online to http://www.geocaching.com for more information.
Grab your fishing pole and bait and head over to our fishing pier to try your luck. Virginia fishing license is required and may be purchased at the Visitor Center.
Stop by our Visitor Center, check out our 700 gallon freshwater aquarium, and discover a little about the history and wildlife of the Park.
Visitor Center hours are from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm daily. Regular parking fees apply.
