Sean Gaskell of Asheville, N.C. has charmed audiences around the world with his playing of the Kora, a 21-string, gourd harp invented in Gambia more than 300 years ago. Said the Minneapolis Star Tribune, Gaskell “delivers acres of melody and gently rippling rhythms.” On June 19, the Franklin County Public Library's Main Branch will host Gaskell in free concerts at 11AM & 12:30PM. Gaskell will share the Kora’s history and perform traditional songs about the ancient Mande empire. Seats first come, first served. For all ages.
