The Franklin County Public Library’s Myths & Facts Virginia Wildlife Series hosts wildlife biologist David Kalb, Ph.D. in a presentation on the reintroduction of wild elk to Virginia. Once native to our state, elk had mostly disappeared by the 1850s. Today, they are a testament to the ecological, economic and cultural benefits of ecosystem protection. Dr. Kalb will cover elk history, habitat and behavior and play recordings of their bugles and bellows. Registration is required @ 483-3098 opt 0. Free.
