Local Sales Manager

Job Description
WSET is looking for a Local Sales Manager (LSM) who will lead our local sales department in maximizing all sales opportunities, with an emphasis on new business development and digital sales.  The candidate will help lead the local team in exceeding budgets on multiple platforms and coach and mentor a team of motivated sellers.  Candidate should have the ability to work in a fast paced environment and handle multiple challenges simultaneously.  Candidate must be able to take initiative and make decisions without daily guidance.   
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Collaborate with General Sales Manager in recruitment, training and effective management of local sales team
  • Oversight of new local business efforts, including accountability for new business sales goals and inventory management
  • Conduct weekly one-on-one meetings and quarterly strategy meetings with each Marketing Consultant
  • Be active in the sales process, getting out on sales calls weekly.  Grow relationships with local advertisers
  • Meet and exceed department revenue goals, market share, new business and digital goals
  • Assist in inventory management and pricing
  • At least 5 years broadcast sales experience, with televisions sales and management experience preferred
  • Is a skilled negotiator and problem saver
  • Has a passion to to build and maintain strong client relationships
  • Proven success in developmental business and multimedia platforms including web and mobile applications
  • Thorough knowledge of ratings and the ability to create presentations utilizing comparative values
  • College degree preferred
  • Computer software (PowerPoint, Word, Excel, etc.) competency required
