2023 Second Annual Bald Knob Artists Open Art Show

The 2nd Annual Open Art Show presented by Bald Knob Artists (BKA) will be held Sept. 15-17 at Rocky Mount United Methodist Church, 35 N. Main St. in Rocky Mount. Entrance in back. There are 7 art categories: Oil, Acrylic, Water Media, Multimedia, 3D (e.g. pottery, glass, wood, textiles, concrete), Other (e.g. pen and ink, pastel and photography), and Students in Grades 9-12. Ribbon awards and cash prizes will be given for first place, second place and third place in each category. Honorable Mention awards may be designated at the Judge's discretion. There also will be one Best in Show ribbon, and the People's Choice Award will be announced at the end of the show, along with cash prizes up to $200. Many of the artworks will be for sale, to be arranged between the Buyer and Artist, with no commission. Gallery viewing will be Friday, Sept. 15, from 3-6 PM, Saturday, Sept. 16, from 10AM to 4PM, and Sunday, Sept. 17, from noon to 3PM. The opening reception will be Friday, Sept. 15 at 6PM, with the awards ceremony beginning at 6:30. Mr. Mark Woodie, artist and art educator, will judge this year’s Bald Knob Open Art Show entries. Mr. Woodie's studio is in Troutville, VA.
