The Friends of Booker T. Washington invite you to the celebration of National Park Week and to honor Booker T. Washington at the annual Legacy Dinner on Saturday evening April 27, 2019 from 6:00 p.m.-9:00 p.m. at Trinity Ecumenical Parish in Moneta, VA. This year’s theme is “Not Your Mama’s History” starring guest presenter Cheyney McKnight. Cheyney McKnight is a Public Historian and Historical Interpreter who consults with and aids museums and historical sites in developing specialized programming about the African American experience within 18th and 19th century America. She has interpreted 18th, early 19th and mid-19th century slavery as a Living Historian in 26 states, and has worked with over 45 historic sites. Cheyney is an experienced historical interpreter with over 3000 hours of interpretive experience. Cheyney has also crafted and written over 18 tours for sites in Virginia and has written 13 specialized museum programs throughout the East Coast.
