FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Glass Works by Linwood Hoffman April 1st-April 30th At the MOarts Gallery MONETA, VA – April 4, 2019 – Virginia native Linwood Hoffman experimented with drawing, painting, and pottery, but glass blowing is the medium that set his dreams on fire when he witnessed the process for the first time as boy visiting Jamestown with his family. His one-of-a-kind creations that resulted from that dream are on display in April at the MOarts Gallery. Hoffman realized his dream of becoming a glass blower in the winter of 2007 at a workshop in Staunton. This rewarding, demanding, and dangerous path of artistic expression involves skillfully working color and design into a semi-liquid medium that is glowing at 2100 degrees. The artist’s breath literally goes into the art along with, often, his blood, sweat, and tears, Hoffman observes. The graceful forms and moving colors that result from the process of this artistic experience gleam at Hoffman’s MOarts exhibit. About Linwood Hoffman: Linwood Hoffman is a native of Virginia who has experimented with different artistic mediums for many years. His work in drawing, painting, and pottery influence his glass creations. Contact Information: For more details about this exhibit please contact the Moneta/SML Library at 540-425-7004.
