Raising the Shade: Franklin County 1850 - 1910

The Smith Mountain Lake Democrats welcomes Glenna Moore, MUA, Ancestry Research Chair of the United States Colored Troops (USCT) and Franklin County native. Mrs. Moore will discuss "Raising the Shade," a project that will uncover and commemorate the forgotten, sometimes hidden, history of Franklin County and share what it means to residents today. Light refreshments will be served at 12:30pm. A brief business meeting will be held following the presentation.
