Proceeds from team and individual fundraising efforts support LCM’s services aimed at assisting local neighbors struggling with poverty. The Smith Mountain Lake region has witnessed a staggering rise in the number of individuals and families seeking assistance as households grapple with soaring living expenses. Lake Christian Ministries has been at the forefront of shoring up our region’s struggling residents, particularly during the tumultuous years of 2021-2023. During the past two years, Lake Christian Ministries has seen a 55% increase in individuals seeking assistance. Behind 55% overall increase lies the stories of children whose lives have been profoundly impacted by LCM services. From 2021-2023, the number of children served increased by a remarkable 74%, underscoring the vulnerability of the youngest members of our community.
