Peter Coogan, an associate professor of history at Hollins University, will be joining us again to present another fascinating look back into history. Join Dr. Coogan to see how the international conflict, World War I, began. Coogan's seminars have included the Cold War, America's rise to power, and the history of the nuclear arms race. He has published articles on both British and American national security policy in the 20th century. His credentials include a B.A. from Duke University and an M.A. and Ph.D. from the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill. He has been a member of the Hollins faculty since 1988.
The Winter Lecture Series is presented by the Friends of Smith Mountain Lake State Park. Proceeds go to help fund educational programs and projects in the park.
