About Us
Introducing Neal Howes, a dedicated and passionate local actor based at Smith Mountain Lake, Virginia. With a flair for the dramatic and a love for storytelling,
Neal is an actor who's calling card states ''starving actor looking for work.'' He has used that tag line after being a very successful starving actor in New York City. His first starting role was Winnie the Pooh. At age 6 he brought the house down. The play was when Winnie the Pooh was stuck in Rabbit's hole. When time came to pull Pooh out, the whole stage scenery came apart. The whole audience laughed and Neal knew in that moment that he wanted to be an actor. Over 66 years he has done stage, film, TV, commercials and stand-up comedy.
In fifth grade he played Mrs. Khrushchev who really ran Russia. For seven years his character was George CryAlot, the town crier for the Carolina Renaissance Festival and helped with marketing. To support his acting career, so he could eat, he has also worked in retail management, banking and tax auditor for local government. He started his farewell tour last year. How long will that farewell tour last? Who knows. It could go on for years like rock bands. One of his stand-up characters is ''Neal Howes the Tax Man, everyone boo''.
Neal has used his talents to entertain special needs children during the holiday seasons, and has been involved in many chambers of commerce over the years, as he knows the importance of networking and the tremendous value chambers of commerce provide.
