Hi, I'm Thurston Bower, the Principal Broker of United Country-Southwest Virginia Realty at Smith Mountain Lake. I grew up in Franklin County, graduated from the University of Virginia, and spent countless hours focused on marketing and community relations for the Make-A-Wish Foundation and for Easter Seals Virginia. My love of land development and real estate began ten years ago when I started working for Balzer and Associates, Inc., an architecture, engineering and surveying firm in Roanoke. I married a Civil Engineer whose focus on land development and growth here at Smith Mountain Lake lead me to a career in real estate. Understanding the local development trends and real estate market coupled with my extensive marketing and internet experience, I am able to provide my clients the services and knowledge needed in today's ever changing environment.
