Event Description:
Crappie, bluegill and sunfish are just a few species of fish you might catch here at Smith Mountain Lake. We'll explore the pastime of fishing, as you learn how to rig a line, put a worm on the hook, and practice casting. Space is limited to 12.

Smith Mountain Lake State Park Jr. Ranger program is offered free to participants, ages 7-12 years, due to the generous support of the Friends of Smith Mountain Lake State Park. Eight hours of programming are required to qualify as a Jr. Ranger. Programs are held on 6/14, 6/21, 6/28, 7/5, 7/12, and 7/19. 

Pre-registration required. Registration opens June 1, 2018. Request a registration form by e-mailing to jeanette.lawler@dcr.virginia.gov, or you may call 540-297-5998 for more information. Registrations need to be returned prior to the date your child plans to attend. You will be notified when the registration is confirmed.
